Project Brief
The Fourth Industrial Revolution Technologies Program in Sur, entitled (SURTAK), is an educational and awareness program that aims to create an opportunity for participants to learn about the various fields of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and its related disciplines.
The program was held for four days from September 29 to October 2, 2019, at the College of Applied Sciences in Sur. The program targeted 400 male and female students from the eleventh and twelfth grades from different schools of Sur. The program was divided into the first two days for males (200 students) and the following two days for females (200 female students). This program is one of the initiatives of the Oman Liquefied Natural Gas Company, implemented by Salikon Knowledge Company and in cooperation with the Directorate General of Education in the Ash-Sharqiyah South Governorate.
Five Omani companies that specialized in the fields of the Fourth Industrial Revolution participated in the program. On the first day, students were introduced to five different fields: programming, wireless aircraft, 3D printing, robotics, electrical circuits, then delved into two areas of the student's choice. On the second day, the student chooses only one field and focuses on it under the supervision of experts specialized in that field.
About the workshops offered
Circuit: Electrical Circuits Workshop
The first stage
A simple introduction to students about the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and their importance in the labor market
The second stage
-An explanation of what the Arduino is in general and the function of each part in it.
-The most important electronic parts that are used with the Arduino.
-The difference between a series connection and a parallel connection.
The third stage
-Connect a lamp to the Arduino and program it to blink every second.
-Arduino programming language (C++) explained.
-A mental game that opens the student's mind to think outside the box.
-Measure the room temperature using a 35lm temperature sensor or measure the light intensity using IDR.

-Google and its global technologies
-A simple overview of the importance of Google technologies in our daily lives
The second stage
-The important technologies in Google, the mechanism of their development, and their great impact on the Fourth Industrial Revolution were explained.
-Talk to Google for quick access
The third stage
-Teaching how to create a website and create their page on the Internet.
-How to be protected from electronic intrusions while browsing the Internet
-Marketing basics and their importance
-Learn about marketing in Google platforms, its importance and its great impact on sales and purchases, and increasing the number of customers.

The first stage
-Wireless aircraft and their importance our current days.
The second stage
-Explaining the content theoretically to students, testing their knowledge of wireless aircraft, its importance in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and how to benefit from it
-Explanation of some aviation theories and practical application to motivate them to register in the third stage.
The third stage
-The practical workshop was implemented through the application of the theoretical explanation
-Learning in virtual reality how to fly planes.
-Some planes were flown in open spaces, which had the effect of increasing students' understanding and assimilation of what they had learned.


InnoTech
The first stage
-Showing students the machines used in 3D printing technology.
The second stage
-3D printing technology and its life use, including making machines needed by humans, are delved into depth
-Building homes and other life necessities in a short period.
The third stage
-Practical work for students about designing and the steps involved in reverse engineering
-Adding some features that make the product special for the customer.
-Students apply the reverse design.
-Printing students' designs and converting them from the design product into a real, tangible product on the ground.
Engineering Village
The first stage
-Explain the general idea of robots
The second stage
-Talk about robots in more detail.
- Talk about programming and how to get started in it.
-Learn more about the specifications of different robots.
The third stage
-A specific movement of the robot and the way it is programmed is explained and the application was done by the students
-Going in-depth in explaining the programming method from one movement to several movements.
-Expand on how traffic lights work and the timing in which each color is lit.
-How to program the robot so that it makes certain sounds, the different sounds were mentioned, and that some of the smart robots can be programmed to speak certain words
